The Administrative Court in Linköping has overturned a March 2025 decision by the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) that imposed a SEK 8 million ($852,867) penalty on Malta-based online gambling operator LeoVegas, which operates in Sweden under the Roar Vegas brand.
A Swedish court has backed LeoVegas by deciding to overturn an SEK 8 million ($854K) fine against the company.
The period of May to August 2026 will see Sweden’s gambling industry enter a new era of compliance and regulatory control imposed by the Gambling Inspectorate, Spelinspektionen, and the Ministry of Finance, Finansdepartementet.
Sweden’s regulator, Spelinspektionen, is closely monitoring Mr Green, along with other iGaming brands, to ensure compliance with regulations.
