Macau's gross gaming revenue (GGR) fell 12.1% from a year earlier to MOP$18.5 billion ($2.29 billion) in June, marking the enclave's weakest monthly performance since September 2025 as the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup weighed on casino spending.
According to data from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), June revenue in Macau also saw an 18.1% decline compared to May. The impact of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was cited as a significant factor contributing to the decreased casino spending during the month.
This decline in gaming revenue in June represents a notable setback for Macau, with the World Cup exerting pressure on the region's casino industry and leading to a drop in overall performance for the month.
