Despite the growth of the sector, Ian Angus, the director of policy of the United Kingdom’s Gambling Commission (UKGC), stated that the regulator would tighten control over illegal lotteries. This decision comes in light of the significant revenue generated by society lotteries, emphasizing the need for stricter oversight to prevent illegal activities within the sector.
