The Court of Appeal has upheld the award of the fourth UK National Lottery licence to Allwyn, rejecting an attempt by The New Lottery Company (TNLC) and Northern & Shell to overturn an earlier High Court judgment.
The Court of Appeal has dismissed the challenge brought by TNLC and Northern & Shell against the decision to award the UK National Lottery licence to Allwyn. This decision comes after TNLC claimed that they should have won the licence instead, accusing the regulator of making unauthorized changes to the licence terms post the bidding process.
Despite the allegations made by TNLC, the Court of Appeal ruled in favor of Allwyn, affirming the legitimacy of the licence award process and rejecting the claims of impermissible modifications by the regulator.
