France’s gambling regulator has warned that high-risk players account for a substantial share of online gambling revenue, after a newly launched algorithm identified around 600,000 players with a high probability of excessive gambling during the second half of 2025.

The Autorité Nationale des Jeux stated that these identified players represented 8.7% of the total online account-based gambling population under licensed operators. The regulator emphasized the need for targeted interventions to address the issue of excessive gambling and protect vulnerable players.
