Minnesota is a governor’s signature away from becoming the first U.S. jurisdiction to explicitly ban the operation of prediction markets through legislation.
Minnesota is close to implementing a ban on prediction markets as the state's House and Senate have moved forward with a conference committee report on Senate File 4760. This bill, focused on public safety, is now awaiting Gov. Tim Walz's final approval. If signed, Minnesota will be the first state to officially prohibit prediction markets through legislative action.
