A senior parks and recreation official in Massachusetts is accused of stealing more than $200,000 from a youth baseball organization and investigators claim some of the money went to gambling at casinos and other personal expenses.

Christopher Gerstel, 50, chairman of the Needham Parks and Recreation, is facing fraud charges related to the misappropriation of funds. Authorities allege that Gerstel diverted funds from the youth baseball organization for personal use, including gambling at casinos and covering other personal expenses.

The investigation revealed that over $200,000 was misappropriated over several years. Gerstel's alleged actions have led to charges of larceny, embezzlement, and other financial crimes.
