Days after losing a bid to move into federal court, Kalshi suffered another defeat Monday when a Michigan judge temporarily barred the company from offering sports event contracts.
Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) sought by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, preventing Kalshi from providing sports markets in the state. This decision comes after Kalshi's unsuccessful attempt to transfer the case to federal court, marking a significant setback for the prediction market operator in Michigan.
