Authorities in Agrigento shut down two clandestine betting collection centers and imposed administrative fines exceeding €20,000 ($22,796) during a coordinated crackdown on illegal gambling activities.

Authorities in Agrigento shut down two clandestine betting collection centers and imposed administrative fines exceeding €20,000 ($22,796) during a coordinated crackdown on illegal gambling activities.

Italian customs and gambling regulator ADM announced on Friday that ADM's Sicily 6 office in Porto Empedocle, in collaboration with provincial units of the Guardia di Finanza (GdF), conducted the operation. Inspectors took action against the unauthorized betting points as part of efforts to curb illicit gambling in the region.
