Iowa has approved legislation that targets sweepstakes casinos and other forms of illegal gambling.

Iowa has passed a bill aimed at sweepstakes casinos and illegal gambling activities. Governor Kim Reynolds signed the legislation, allowing state authorities to issue cease-and-desist orders to operators. The bill, known as Senate File 2289, was unanimously approved by lawmakers in both the House and the Senate last month. It grants the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) the power to take enforcement actions against violators.
