Indonesia has blocked access to Polymarket as authorities expand enforcement against online betting, after a prediction market wager on the possible early end of President Prabowo Subianto’s term circulated widely on social media.
Indonesia has taken action to block access to Polymarket following the increased crackdown on online betting activities. This move comes after a prediction market bet concerning the potential premature conclusion of President Prabowo Subianto's term gained significant traction on social platforms. The Communications and Digital Ministry emphasized that platforms facilitating bets on specific event outcomes are considered forms of gambling, even if they are labeled as “prediction markets”.
