The UK House of Lords discussed the importance of ratifying the Macolin Convention to combat match-fixing on an international scale.
The International Agreements Committee convened to address the necessity of ratifying the convention to tackle the global issue of match-fixing. Karen Moorhouse, CEO of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), emphasized to the committee the significance of holding accountable tennis players who are found guilty of participating in match-fixing activities.
The committee reiterated the need to prosecute those involved in match-fixing schemes to safeguard the integrity of sports competitions and uphold fair play across different sporting events.
