Chief Brian Harris revealed the Catawba Nation's intention to construct two additional casinos in North Carolina during the inauguration of the initial phase of the $1.2 billion Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort. Addressing an audience of around 500 tribal members and visitors at the ribbon-cutting event, Harris emphasized the tribe's dedication to expanding its gaming footprint throughout the state, as reported by the Charlotte Observer.
