A legal dispute between Circle K and a former manager over a $12.8 million winning lottery ticket has become even more complicated after a second convenience store employee came forward claiming a share of the jackpot.
The issue began in November of last year when a customer visited a Circle K store in Upper Arlington, Ohio, and handed over a winning ticket. The store manager, who was on duty at the time, claimed the prize as her own. However, a former manager filed a lawsuit alleging that the winning ticket was purchased as part of an office pool.
Now, a second employee has joined the legal battle, asserting that they should also receive a portion of the jackpot. The situation highlights the importance of clear rules and agreements when participating in group lottery ticket purchases.
